Party At Sea Again in 2013

So, here we go again. The party continues on the deep blue waters of the Atlantic, courtesy of Entertainment Cruise Productions’ (ECP) Greatest Party At Sea 2013. We here at The Smooth Jazz Ride told you about this sizzling weeklong jam on the 2012 version (see that review on our page dedicated to that cruise). Now comes one that promises to go one better with the addition of the one and only George Benson. Let me repeat that…the one and only George Benson. Read on.

As per usual, The Smooth Jazz Cruise: The Greatest Party at Sea 2013, which sails twice in January 2013 (Jan. 13 -20 and Jan. 20-27),  boasts a star-studded lineup of the genre’s best, including David Sanborn, Marcus Miller, Candy Dulfer, Jonathan Butler, Rick Braun, Brian Culbertson, Richard Elliot, Ken Ford, Jeff Golub, Bob James, Brian Simpson, Angie Stone, Steve Cole, Paul Taylor, DW3 and comedian Alonzo Bodden.  Recently added to our talented supporting cast are Larry Braggs, Raul Midon, Ellis Hall and Judith Hill.  Dane Butcher and Pat Prescott will again serve as hosts of the cruise that is a perennial sell-out. Add to that the power and class of the iconic George Benson, and the party is set to be one helluva firecracker!

Wait! There’s more!  Not only is George Benson the special guest on The Smooth Jazz Cruise 2013, but he is the headliner for two very special shows this spring, helping to celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Smooth Jazz Cruise. The first show is the March 23 show in downtown Chicago at the Chicago Theatre, where George and Boney James will be performing. Alonzo Bodden will also be joining ECP for the evening as its host. Great music and great humor!

Tickets are on sale now for that show at the Chicago Theatre website or Ticketmaster. More than 2,000 seats have been sold thus far, but good seats do remain available.

Tickets just recently went on sale for the June 1 show in the Atlanta area, which features George and Joey Sommerville. The concert will be held at the very lovely Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater in Peachtree City. For more information or to purchase tickets directly, go to ECP has produced shows at “The Fred” before, and all that can be said is that it is one of the most beautiful settings in the world for a concert. If you are anywhere near Atlanta at that time, you will want to join in for a truly magical night.
